Continuing Education

Occupational Therapists are required to complete ongoing learning throughout their career to stay registered and licensed.  I completed a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at UW-La Crosse at the end of 2011 and have been practicing in the western Wisconsin area since 2012.

Select Functional Movement Assessment with ART Active Diagnosis

This year's Active Release Techniques annual training deserves it's own mention.  The Select Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) is a powerful diagnostic tool that helps me find the problems my patients don't know about which are usually the causes of the problems they do know about.  Go ahead and read that again - it's a different way of thinking about how our body works.  It's a different way to approach treatment and I'm already seeing an improvement in results.

RockTape Basic

August, 2024

Certification course required for utilizing kinesiology taping with my Corporate Solutions clients.  I chose this training because I wanted to have another tool available during worksite sessions and to hear updated information on research that has been done with kinesiology tape since the last time I had this kind of training.

Mental Health First Aid

June, 2024

Evidence-based training program that teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health challenges.  I chose this training to improve my ability to address needs that often accompany pain problems.

Medical Screening and Regional Review of Body Systems

March 2023-2024

Certifcate program to improve healthcare providers ability to identify conditions and diseases that present as musculoskeletal pain.  Multiple short courses organized by organ system or body region.  I chose this training to increase the safety of my patients.

Active Release Techniques annual training

2016-present

I am currently Full Body Level 2 certified and have also taken Nerve (see icons above).  I look foward to learning Select Functional Movement Analysis and Active Diagnosis in November.  I continue to choose Active Release Techniques as my primary intervention because it is the most effective and efficient soft-tissue treatment system I have ever encountered.
